Kaja Brown is KRDP’s General Manager. For more than 20 years he has worked within a diversity of media organizations across the United States, including college radio and newspapers, community radio, commercial radio, and public television. He currently serves as Executive Producer for the Black and African-American public affairs series SOUL STAR LIVE, as well as hosts his own weekly specialty show, HIPRAWK NATION®, which spotlights an eclectic playlist of Alternative, Electronic, Dance, Rap, R&B and Neo Soul artists from around the world.
Prior to the launch of KRDP, Kaja served as a founding Board member and the founding President of the Arizona Community Media Foundation (AzCMF), a 501(c)(3) educational media organization which launched KRDP’s predecessor, Radio Phoenix. Before his time with AzCMF, he worked in various operations and programming support roles at Arizona PBS in Phoenix, and in multiple production, on-air, support, and leadership roles at KFNX and KXEG radio in Phoenix, KBZY radio in Salem, Oregon, KBPS/KPSU radio in Portland, Oregon, and WAWZ radio in the New York City area.
In his free time he enjoys traveling, reading a good book, cooking and exploring the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
Kaja holds an MBA and a Bachelor degree.
